China is crowded. I know that. There are over a billion people in this country. They are everywhere. But it wasn’t until I went to the train station that I realized exactly how crowded the country is. This place was packed and space is so limited that there is an undercurrent of panic and aggression. Far more tickets are sold than seats available. So there is no room for hesitation when the train pulls up. People became ruthless as they attempted to get on their trains. There was no thought of apologies as everyone pushed and shoved forward. It was scary.
